Welcome to Marble Swimwear, we’re glad you’re here.
In recent times, it’s become more apparent the damage that the fashion industry is having on our planet. That’s why, at the beginning of 2018, we decided Marble Swimwear needed to do something about it. We don’t just talk about sustainability, we really mean it. We’ve individually chosen and vetted every single element of our production to ensure that it’s environmentally conscious. From the fabrics used to make our swimwear, the material it is packaged in, through to the methods used to deliver it to you - we are committed to ensure that every decision made is done with the planet at the forefront of our minds.
We take time over our designs, so that you’ll wear them again and again. We always strive to bring you the best materials, designs and cuts, manufactured in a safe and ethical work environment and with zero compromise on quality. Handmade in Bali, our swimwear is made with love and promises a long life garment, that will see you through many summers.
Most importantly, we wanted to find a community of people who care about where their clothes come from and how they’re made as much as how they look. We're glad you found us, take a look around.
Much of our swimwear is made using luxurious Italian fabric made with 78% Econyl®, a recycled fibre made from recycled plastics such as abandoned fishing nets, water bottles and other post-consumer waste.
The Econyl® yarn is then woven with LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ which proved to be 5 times more durable when exposed to chlorine and UV than comparable swimwear fabrics.
We're working on making all our collections using materials from recycled sources. We're getting there.
All our packaging is either recyclable or biodegradable. Absolutely no plastic here!
Rescue - it all starts with rescuing waste like fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic from landfills and oceans all over the world. The waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover as much nylon or polyester as possible.
Regenerate - the waste is sorted and cleaned. Then it’s shredded down in to tiny chips, washed again and sent to the manufacturing facility.
Remake - the chips are heated, processed and extruded to make superfine threads that are spun together in to yarn. The Econyl® yarn is then woven with LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ which proved to be 5 times more durable when exposed to chlorine and UV than comparable swimwear fabrics.
We think the fashion industry needs an overhaul. And we reckon, if you’re still reading, you do too. We’re not in to designing for one season only or making swimwear that will only last you a single summer. Rather than adhere to the pressure of a disposable, fast-fashion culture, we consciously keep our collections small and introduce new designs at a slower and much more sustainable pace that's kinder to the planet and the people that make them.
