Marble Destinations: Bali

Recently, we travelled to Bali to shoot our soon to be released AW17 Collection. Thankfully, it wasn't all work, and we managed to visit some of our favourite spots whilst there. After taking many trips there over the years, we wanted to share some of our top tips to help you plan the trip of a lifetime, should you be planning a visit to this beautiful island.

Packing Essentials:

One of the main reasons we love Bali, is the chilled out vibe. Even though there are some lovely restaurants to dine in, floaty and relaxed is the way to go.

Our essentials are:

  1. Comfortable sandals / shoes for walking
  2. 2-3 Kaftans/ dresses
  3. Bikinis (of course!)
  4. One/two dressy dinner outfits
  5. Shorts/ T-shirts for activities
  6. Suncream (and plenty of it!) the sun is extremely strong in Bali

Hotels / Villas:

The Oberoi, Seminyak - Perfect for a couples retreat

The Ungasan, Uluwatu - The most spectacular infinity pool you'll ever see. With it's own private beach club, Sundays Beach Club.

The W Hotel, Seminyak - Right in the heart of Seminyak, perfect for a trip away with the girls.

Hideaway Villas, Uluwatu - Perfect for a peaceful and quiet stay

Transport:

The traffic is pretty crazy in Bali, and therefore most of the locals get around on mopeds. Although they are a lot of fun, we wouldn't recommend if you are visiting that you do this as the roads can be quite dangerous. Instead, we use Taxis to get around the island. At only $3 - 4 dollars to travel across town, it's a great alternative even if it does take a little longer.

Uber runs in Bali as well as a local alternative Go Jek. Although be careful if you are using either of these services as the local taxi drivers aren't too keen on the app takeover!

Restaurants:

La Lucciola - Delicious Italian restaurant overlooking the beach. A relaxed evening dining ambiance in the open air under a huge Balinese thatched roof where you are served great pasta and wine.

Sardine - Charming seafood restaurant on the outskirts of Seminyak town. Ask to have your dessert overlooking the paddy fields.

Sarong - Seating arranged under two traditional pavilions with food inspired by the flavours across South East Asia.

Motel Mexicola - A lively hangout offering tasty Mexican bites. Finish your meal off with some dancing on the table!

Bars and Beach Clubs:

Ku De Ta - Best spot for a sunset drink before dinner

Potato Head - Lively beach club with a swim up bar

Finns Beach Club - A personal favourite

Rock Bar - Incredible views, an experience not to be missed!
