10 of the most memorable moments in swimwear history
1. Ursula Andress - Dr No. 1962
Ursula Andress in Dr No wore this classic white bikini complete with an army belt - one of the countless times a Bond girl impressed us with her killer suit. There are a lot of iconic moments out there, but it is hard to beat the original, and in our opinion, the best.
2. Elle MacPerson - Elle France, 1987
Elle MacPherson for Elle France made every woman wish for an asymmetrical one piece. It's not as if 'The Body' didn't give us a few options to choose from, as perhaps the 'original' Australian Bikini Babe, but this was hard to beat!
3. Pamela Anderson - Baywatch, 1995
Pamela brought the world the "sky-high-cut" red suit. Who could imagine Baywatch without her? The iconic scenes and music were only bettered by Pammy in the iconic Red Suit - let's see if any of the ladies in the hotly anticipated film release can match her!
4. Halle Berry - Die Another Day, 2002
For 2002's Die Another Day, Oscar winner Halle Berry paid homage to the first Bond girl, Ursula Andress. She made her entrance in an unforgettable orange-red bikini, complete, of course, with a knife belt. This thankfully started a re-emergence of the 'from the water entrance' so perfectly recreated by Daniel Craig in the next instalment of Bond!
5. Demi Moore - Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, 2003
After some time away from the limelight, the then-41-year-old star proved she still had it when she appeared looking unbelievably toned, and improbably ageless, in this tiny, triangle-top bikini. How does she do it?
6. Jessica Alba - In to the Blue, 2005
When this promo picture of Jessica Alba wearing an un-matched two-piece was released, plenty of people took notice. No doubt bikini separates have gained popularity since then.
7. Keira Knightley - Atonement, 2007
Keira Knightley, effortlessly wears a vintage swimming cap coupled with a cross-back one piece. We absolutely love this classic, English rose look which Knightly pulls of with aplomb.
8. Brooklyn Decker - Just Go With It, 2011
Ever thought it was impossible to pull of an entirely bright yellow bikini? Brooklyn Decker proves that's possible in spectacular style. It was Adam Sandler, as well as the rest of the watching world, who had to pull their jaws up when she cracked this look.
9. Gisele Bündchen - Chanel, 2014
Gisele Bündchen runs on the sand carrying a Chanel surfboard, wearing a black long-sleeved wetsuit for Chanel's No. 5 commercial. If there was ever an image to make us want to take up surfing, this is it.
10. Gigi Hadid - Sports Illustrated, 2016
Gigi Hadid's pastel-coloured patterned bikini, as seen in Sports Illustrated, cemented Hadid's place on the global stage. We absolutely love the muted tones in this piece.
